Most teams do not have a knowledge problem. They have a confidence problem.
They broadly know what they should be doing. What they do not have is someone who will sit in the room, answer the question they are slightly embarrassed to ask, and leave them with a plan they can actually run on Monday.
That is the job. I have been doing it since 2011, and it is still where most of my longest client relationships started.
One thing this is not: training to become a fractional CMO. That is a different search and a different reader, and I have written separately on what fractional CMO training covers and what it misses.
Start with who you are
You have a marketing team or a leadership group
In-house sessions built around your business, your data and your market, rather than a generic curriculum. The topic most teams ask for right now is AI and how search is changing.
You run an agency
Your clients are asking for things your team cannot yet deliver. Training your people is faster and cheaper than hiring for it, and the capability stays with you.
It is you, not the team
A short run of one to one sessions where we work on your business rather than a topic. Usually three 90 minute sessions across six weeks, sometimes a single working day.
You run a funded programme or a business support scheme
I am a named trainer on several. If you are commissioning delivery for your own audience, that is a different conversation and I am happy to have it.
What tends to happen afterwards
One SEO workshop in 2011 for DCS, a Leeds cloud hosting and disaster recovery business, turned into a client relationship that is still running. Fifteen years, three changes of ownership at their end including a private equity acquisition in 2025, and the work carried on through all of it.
That is not the exception. A housing association I now work with started with a training day. So did a further education college. It is the reason I keep doing training even though it is not the most profitable thing on my rate card. Being in the room is how the good work starts.
I am telling you this because it should change how you read the rest of the page. I am not trying to sell you a course. I am trying to be useful to your team, and I am fairly relaxed about where that goes next. Where it does lead somewhere bigger, it is usually the fractional CMO seat rather than another session.
Training is not the same as a keynote. If you want me on a stage in front of your audience rather than in a room with your team, that sits over on book me to speak.
The proof, such as it is
53
delegate responses across nine sessions and five workshop titles since August 2024.
4.91
out of 5, averaging across those responses on delivery and facilitation.
12
businesses on one funded programme in 2025 recorded their own confidence before and after. One moved from zero to nine out of 10. Another from four to 10.
The comment that comes back most often is some version of “I finally understood it”. Not “he really knows his stuff”. That distinction is the whole job.
“Very good at explaining and no question felt stupid.”

“Very well put together into digestable chunks of information. In a simple to understand language, thank you.”

Who commissions this
I deliver training directly for businesses, and I am a named trainer for several publicly funded programmes and business support schemes.
AD:VENTURE and West Yorkshire Combined Authority · Leeds City Council · BIPC Leeds · York and North Yorkshire Growth Hub · UMi · Digital Knowledge Exchange · Durham Business Growth · York St John University
Where a programme has commissioned the session, it has already been paid for and it is free for the businesses attending. That is the programme’s investment in its own audience, not a discount on my work.
The topics people actually book
Currently running, and each one is rebuilt for the room rather than delivered from a deck:
AI SEO Bootcamp · AI Marketing Mastery · NotebookLM for websites · Google Search Console made simple · LinkedIn for business growth · Email marketing mastery · Storyselling · Sales confidence for founders
If the thing you need is not on that list, ask. Most of what I run started as a question from a room.

How it works
Formats. A half day, a full day, or a short programme across several weeks. One to one advisory usually runs as three 90 minute sessions across six weeks.
Where. In your building anywhere in Yorkshire and the North, further afield when it makes sense, or remote.
What you leave with. A plan for your business, not a set of notes about marketing. Every session ends with what each person is doing next.
What it costs. In-house sessions and programmes are quoted per engagement, because a leadership half day and a six week team programme are not the same thing. If you are a sole trader or very early stage, the honest answer is that the book below will serve you better than my day rate will.
If you would rather do it yourself
WebProud and the 90 Day Website Mastery programme. Written with Pascal Fintoni, it is the same method in a form you can run without me. If your budget is not ready for training yet, start there.
Tell me what your team is stuck on and I will tell you honestly whether a session is the right answer. Sometimes it is not.
